PORT ANGELES – Clallam County residents will get an update next Monday, February 4th on efforts to address the local opioid epidemic. Attendees will learn about treatment options in Clallam County, and will also receive a free Narcan Nasal spray kit, similar to the ones used by first responders to reverse an overdose.

Public Health Officer Allison Berry Unthank from Health and Human Services will be the presenter.

Unthank says her department has gained some momentum in stemming the tide of the opioid crisis and hopes to see people at Monday’s meeting who have loved-ones who are struggling with addiction.

Monday’s meeting will be from 6-7:30 pm in the Carver Room at the Port Angeles library on Peabody Street. The Naloxone Nasal kit will be available to anyone interested following a short training video to show you how to use it.
