PORT ANGELES – Clallam County is moving ahead with an assessment of how space in the courthouse is used.

The county plans to spend 34-thousand dollars with Beaman Architecture for the study.

Parks, fair and facilities manager Joel Winborn says the county last did a study of space use in 1998. He told county commissioners in a work session this week that since then there has been changes in needs for various departments.

Included in the study will also be an assessment of floor loading at the law library in the courthouse and some recommendations to make it more usable.

The firm is expected to return two options for county commissioners to consider. Included in the report will be conceptual drawings.
