PORT ANGELES – Olympic National Park will have its full staff back today.
ONP officials said they began working to restore winter operations yesterday. But due to storm damage that occurred prior to the government shutdown, many park roads and campgrounds remain closed.
The visitor center in Port Angeles reopened yesterday.
Hurricane Ridge Road winter operations are scheduled to resume this Friday.
Park crews may take a number of days to get many facilities back open in a manner that is safe for crews and the public. ONP officials report a lot of storm debris, downed tree removal, and safety checks that must be completed.
