Police, Coroner’s Office investigating death of Sequim woman as suspicious

SEQUIM – The death of 57-year-old Sequim resident Valerie Ann Claplanhoo, who’s body was discovered Wednesday afternoon in her apartment on S. 5^th Avenue, is being investigated as a suspicious death.

Police were called to the scene by concerned neighbors who hadn’t heard from Claplanhoo in a couple of days.

Sequim Police Chief Sheri Crain was not at liberty to say what it was about Claplanhoo’s death that appeared suspicious.
