PORT ANGELES – Bruce Skinner, Executive Director of the Olympic Medical Center Foundation and literal globetrotter, has signed on for the adventure of a lifetime.
Skinner will join about 200 others in a marathon run on Saint George’s Island in Antarctica in March. We asked him how one prepares for running a 26-mile race in one of the coldest places on earth.
Skinner, who is 68, is doing the run as a member of what’s known as the Seven Continents Club.
Thus far Skinner has completed marathons in the US, Paris, Istanbul, and Sydney, Australia. Antarctica will make it five down, two to go.
