PORT ANGELES – The City of Port Angeles wants to make Lincoln Street a safer place to drive, walk and ride a bicycle.
The Engineering Department is just getting started on the planning phase of The Lincoln Street Safety Project, focusing on the blocks from 1st Street to 8th Street.
We asked City Engineer Jonathan Boehme if the fact that Lincoln Street is also a section of Highway 101 made it an area of concern.

Ideas range from restricting left turns, adding bike lanes, reducing speed limits, putting a traffic signal at 3rd Street and crosswalk signs at 4TH, and even taking away some of the on-street parking.
They want to know what you think, and that’s why everyone’s invited to an open house meeting on Wednesday, October 10th, from 4pm to 6pm in the Vern Burton Meeting Room. It’s an open-house style meeting where you can talk with city staff and the project team and give them feedback.

A survey will be provided at the meeting, but if you are unable to attend, you can still get the survey at the link attached to this story at myclallamcounty.com.
