CLALLAM COUNTY – A car reported stolen around 9:00 Wednesday night in Port Angeles led to a crash near Forks, another car-jacking, and an eventual arrest of 30-year-old Skylar Vestal of Port Angeles.
The State Patrol reports that a Chrysler Sebring, stolen by Vestal, left the roadway about 9:30 while heading south on 101 at Lake Pleasant. Another driver, Carrie Jordan of Forks, was passing by and stopped to see if Vestal needed help.
At that point, Vestal stole Jordan’s pickup and headed south again on the highway, only to be stopped less than ten miles later by a Trooper and arrested without incident.
Vestal was charged with stealing two cars, robbery, driving under the influence and driving while suspended. He is being held without bail.
