Sequim – A Port Angeles couple was injured in a three-car accident on Highway 101 near Sequim Bay State Park.

It happened about six last night when 54-year-old Joseph Tyler suffered a medical emergency that caused him to lose consciousness.

The State Patrol says the small SUV he was driving drifted across the centerline and sideswiped two other vehicles. Tyler’s vehicle then ran into several trees.

The passenger in the vehicle, 50-year-old- Tonya Tyler was also hurt. Both Tylers were taken to Olympic Medical Center.

The drivers and passengers in the other vehicles were not injured.
