PORT ANGELES – Local activists are planning to take their frustrations to the streets this weekend to protest the Trump administration’s Zero Tolerance immigration policy.

A “Families Belong Together” rally is set to gather at the US Border Patrol Station in Port Angeles this Saturday at 11:00 AM.

The North Olympic Peninsula rally is one of many being held in Washington D.C. and around the country on the same day. The rallies are sponsored by MoveOn, the American Civil Liberties Union, and other organizations, but all rallies are organized by local volunteers.

Local organizers will be calling for an end to Zero Tolerance, the reunion of children and parents, and immigration laws that protect human rights. They are asking that participants help them ensure it’s a non-violent, non-partisan, family-friendly rally.
