SEQUIM – There’s new royalty in town as Magan Waldron brings home the crown of Mrs. Washington America. Waldron was a graduate of Port Angeles High School in 2000 and now lives in Sequim.
She and 19 other women competed at the pageant on Saturday the 23RD in Olympia. Waldron has accomplished something no other woman from the Olympic Peninsula ever has:
Waldron will now represent our state in the Mrs. America Pageant in Las Vegas on August 25. If she wins, she’ll be only the second Mrs. Washington to do so. Part of her reason for competing is to bring awareness to the organization Operation Uplift, a non-profit cancer support group founded in Port Angeles in 1983.
She is actively looking for new commercial sponsors to help her get to the next level, and has set up a gofundme page as well.
