PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles City Council is holding a special meeting Tuesday, and the public is invited…for part of it concerning a possible new city manager.
Starting at 4:00, there’s a closed Executive Session to discuss potential litigation with legal counsel.
And then, from 4:30 to 7, the public is invited to sit in on a City Manager Internal Recruitment Process, specifically to discuss having Nathan West, Director of Community and Economic Development, move to city manager. Current city manager Dan McKeen announced last week he is retiring this fall.
The council’s position is that West is a strong candidate for the position, and has gone so far as to hire Greg Prothman, President of Prothman recruiting firm, to interview West and evaluate his qualifications. Prothman will provide the city council with his report and make a recommendation as to West’s ability to serve as City Manager.
The agenda also includes a Continuity of Operations Planning Work session.
