CLALLAM COUNTY – Clallam County Commissioner Mark Ozias introduced the issue of a county-wide fireworks ban at Monday’s work session, and the commissioners agreed to take it up for consideration.

Ozias cited a number of conversations he’s had with residents in favor of a ban, who’s reasons included pet and livestock problems due to noise, fire safety issues, and litter.

Both Sequim and Port Angeles have already banned the discharge of fireworks within city limits.

If a new law is enacted, it’s not likely to happen until next year.
