SEQUIM BAY – A public meeting has been announced to discuss the proposed mixed-use housing development next to the John Wayne Marina in Sequim.

The developers of the Seabrook community on the Washington coast first proposed the project in April. The plan is to build 500 homes or more on 160 acres of land they have purchased from the heirs of John Wayne that lies within the Sequim city limits. The public meeting, set for Monday, September 23 at the 7 Cedars Casino in Blyn, “will include plans, impacts and potential benefits associated with the overlay.”

The developers, who have formed a new company called the Sequim Bay Development Company, say the plan calls for “Varied home styles and price ranges [to] support the needs of Sequim residents [including] cottage housing, attached housing in targeted districts…accessory dwelling units and townhomes.”

They are also designing it to be “a walkable, waterfront community with…parks and open spaces available to the larger Sequim community.”

The public notice says interested parties are encouraged to attend in person, and those unable to attend may submit written comments prior to the meeting at sequiminfo@seabrookwa.com.

Again, the meeting will be on Monday, September 23 in the Blyn Bay Room at 7 Cedars Casino from 4:00-6:00pm.
