SEQUIM – A resident of a small RV park near Sequim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a fire destroyed their fifth-wheel trailer. The fire broke out at 1194 Taylor Cut-Off Road just after noon on Friday.
Clallam County Fire District #3 crews responded to find the RV engulfed in flames, while neighbors attended to the injured resident lying on the ground nearby. Paramedics determined the individual had sustained burns and required airlift transport for treatment in Seattle.
Firefighters tackled the blaze, bringing the flames under control after much of the RV had been consumed. Additional units and volunteer firefighters assisted with scene control, backup, and cleanup efforts.
Approximately 1,100 gallons of water were used to extinguish the fire, which resulted in the complete loss of the RV and its contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Olympic Ambulance and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife also provided assistance during the emergency.
