SEQUIM — Authorities are investigating the discovery of a deceased man found on the beach near the Dungeness Lighthouse.

Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report at approximately 10:48 a.m. on August 7 of an unidentified body about a quarter-mile from the lighthouse. Deputies found the deceased man about 10 feet from the waterline as the tide was coming in.

The man is described as a white male between the ages of 20 and 30, weighing about 200 pounds, with short light brown hair. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and black swim shorts. U.S. coins were found in his pocket, but no identification was located on him. There were no visible injuries, scars, marks, or tattoos.

Law enforcement officials said there are no recent reports of missing persons matching this description in Clallam County. The Clallam County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
