PORT ANGELES – Congratulations to the Composite Recycling Technology Center (CRTC) in Port Angeles, who was recently named to Inc.’s annual Best Workplaces list. Featured on Inc.com, the list is the result of a comprehensive measurement of American companies that have excelled in creating exceptional workplaces and company cultures.

After collecting data from thousands of submissions, Inc. selected 543 honorees this year. Each company that was nominated took part in an employee survey, which included topics such as management effectiveness, perks, fostering employee growth, and overall company culture.

CEO David Walter told KONP in an email that, to his knowledge, CRTC is the first Clallam County business to win this award, and that only 12 companies were honored in the state of Washington.

Founded in 2015, CRTC is a non-profit corporation, producing recycled carbon fiber products ranging from pickleball nets to orthotic braces that help people walk again, to hydrofoils for surfboards and a carbon fiber marine cable to help eliminate microplastic contamination and entanglement in the aquaculture industry.

As we reported in April, the company has also partnered with the Makah Sawmill in Neah Bay to use Tribal timber to produce small cross laminated panels for the construction of everything from tiny houses to emergency shelters.
