PORT ANGELES – A travel trailer burned yesterday east of Port Angeles.

Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue units were called to the fire in the Monroe Estates RV Park about three Monday afternoon. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a fully engulfed travel trailer, with flames extending to a nearby fence and threatening overhead power lines.

Emergency crews quickly got the flames out, preventing further spread of the fire. Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputies confirmed that the sole resident of the trailer was unharmed. Initial investigations suggest the fire was accidental.

Crews remained on standby after the fire was contained, addressing minor leaks from damaged propane tanks with assistance from Ferrell Gas representatives. Clallam County PUD also assessed the power lines for any potential damage.

Fire District officials say the operation involved significant resources, with Clallam 2 Fire-Rescue deploying two fire engines, one command vehicle, and 12 firefighters. Additionally, the Port Angeles Fire Department contributed one fire engine and four personnel. Olympic Ambulance provided standby support with one ambulance. All units were cleared from the scene by 5 PM.
