PORT ANGELES — An RV fire yesterday sent smoke high into the air visible from many parts of Port Angeles.
PA Fire Department crews were called to the fire on South Valley Street just after 4 pm. When they arrived, they found a single RV fully involved in flames, shooting a black plume of smoke reaching the 8th Street Bridge above the scene.
Crews quickly knocked down the flames and used hand tools to pull debris out of the burnt RV, ensuring all hot spots were out and no further burning would continue. The RV was a complete loss. No one was around to claim the RV and there were no first-hand witnesses to the start of the fire. It is unknown if anyone was living in the RV, however it was unoccupied.
